Feeling hot under the collar?
Glaciers and polar ice melting, and sea levels are rising, hot, dry weather, huge forest fires and restrictions on water, and damage to crops.
You name it, if were not so far in your life, and they will soon. Global warming and climate change are facts of life now, according to the International Panel on Climate Change, and many scientists.
Significant problems beyond our control!
But are you hot under the collar?
If you do not, perhaps you live in a city where half the citizens in the land and now lives and take a lot of self. Because in the life of the city, and we are far from natural processes that provide us food, clothing and energy.
Does your child know that even the milk from the cow - soy, or if you're that way inclined - not from a carton of milk?
Even in a city that can not stick your head in the sand (or under asphalt?) And you are not immune to climate change. Cookies and 15,000 mostly elderly people who died in Paris alone, the European hot hot summer of 2003. Or the presence of a large number of dead in New Orleans in the 'hands' of Hurricane Katrina.
If you're hot under the collar, do not you think that there will be some breakthrough scientific miracle so that they can ever official "they" will set the ground? And stem cell technology in the end probably can clone a new home for us!
Seriously, for many of us it's just very difficult.
All we want is to live a life where we can raise our children have a future.
The ability to predict in the future: education, work, family, society and achievements and a good life - a healthy planet.
Is it the dream fades, once a reasonable expectation?
Maybe, maybe not.
Our world is changing. There are significant challenges ahead and it is too late to stop global warming. I have changed the earth and the processes that you use to organize themselves set. These changes are not suitable for human life as it is.
But were not powerless.
Each one person change the world one by one. Let me explain.
You need to say that these problems are under our control, then?
Well, yes and no.
We are talking about the world of really severe disability.
It is the experience of disability, we can learn to survive and thrive!
"Come on, the real," I tell you I do not hear: "Show me the best alternative energy sources and we will come out of this mess."
Yes, we are desperate you do not have to go to renewable energy sources that are not greenhouse gases from our land, home. But all this technology in the world will not be enough to survive and thrive.
And renewable energy sources alone will not teach us to accept the border and the inability to predict, and it is to live a fulfilling life.
How we live together, we have hundreds of billion of the past few years, has taught us this point. And change what we do, we can live with climate change and the best we can.
So far.
It's simple and it is hard work. No way out of it.
Many people suffer from severe disabilities know it. They point life satisfaction as well as or better than anyone else - under very difficult circumstances, and prone to risk.
So we can learn to live in a world with special needs.
Regardless of what is to come, and will have served well by the beliefs and strategies that persons with disabilities to use - and not just survive - but to live well.
This is the real alternative sources of energy.
These leaders how to use what we have sustained.
This is a "disability" to believe:
* Accept that we are all fragile and weak
* The world is full of limits. We need some of them to live well
* Weakness and dependency are an integral part of his life
* No one is independent, but interrelated
* Contact with others is the lifeblood of our well-being
They are doing this:
* Work with others to build a positive relationship, where you live, work and play
* Pay attention to their needs and the environment
* Take responsibility for the situation you
* Care for others and the environment efficiently
* Be assertive and use your creativity and humor
Not all disabled people working in this way, of course. I would like to be the last to represent persons with disabilities as heroes. We are just people - in a bid to the Board of Directors.
I tried it!
Talking with an elderly woman in your street. Provide a helping hand when someone needs it.
Do these things to communicate with others and your environment.
Do not also use the "normal" alternative sources of renewable energy, recycling, too.
You can change your local world by acting in this way.
If all else fails - whatever it was?
Well, this is the only way to go!
Can possibly be your world just hot, but it would be cooler under your collar!
